Home Is Where The Heart Is

So, this is the first blog that I've actually had the guts to post so far. This past week has honestly been probably the most stressful one of my entire life. Trying to finish high school a year early is probably not the smartest idea I've ever had. I cannot tell you enough how excited I am to get OUT of New Bern High School though. I wish that I could be home-schooled soooo bad. I mean school in general has just never been my favorite place to be, I like being in the comfort of my own home.... Which brings me to another thing: Home...What is home? What do you think makes a place “home” for a person? What is the difference between a place you happen to live and a place you think of as home? Is it a history? Does it depend on other people? What is the relationship of home and family? To me, home is the place that when you go there, the people there are happy to see you and you’re happy to see them. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with family. Home to me is my church, Tabernacle Baptist... Everyone there is always so friendly and nice, and I don't know what I would do without them. I spend probably 90% of my time there whenever I'm not at school, at work, or sleeping. Every time I think about the word "home" the first thing that comes to my mind is the song "Temporary Home" by Carrie Underwood. 

This IS only our temporary home, and one day we will meet Jesus face-to-face...  "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." -1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 Where will you be?
